A majestically syncopated theme in the brass opens this exciting overture by Mark Wadleigh. Oak Ridge Overture is written in a fast-slow-fast form. The first section's theme is upbeat and contemporary and is played by all of the sections at different times. The chorale-style middle section gives woodwinds and brass a chance to polish off their legato technique.
